Ivan Lewis despaired over his relocation to Hackney
BBC staff that refuse to move to the corporation’s new media centre in Salford should be ashamed of their “outdated prejudices, one-dimensional view of Britain and negativity about the north which belongs in the dark ages,” according to Ivan Lewis, the shadow culture secretary.
I had worried that some of those people didn’t want to move because of concern about the effect of the move on their children’s lives, or the impact on their spouse’s career or, you know, because they quite like their life and friends in London.

Friends, Geordies, countrymen, lend her your tears.

Ladies and gentleman, after a thorough internal investigation in which at least four files were checked and two people questioned after work in the Hand in Till pub in Wapping, Booze International has found itself guilty of listening to the private voicemail of at least 8 people who we calculate have a definite chance of defeating our extremely expensive lawyers in court.
The Guardian reports that News of the World chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck, along with former news editor Ian Edmondson, have been arrested as part of the investigation into the News of the World phone-hacking scandal.
